A greener Apple
October 11th, 2006 by franciov

“We’re Greenpeace, and we want a fresh green Apple.”

It’s the latest Greenpeace campaign against Apple. Greenpeace has launched a website, designed to resemble the Apple site, in which it accuses Apple to use hazardous substances in its computers.

“We love Apple. Apple knows more about “clean” design than anybody, right? So why do Macs, iPods, iBooks and the rest of their product range contain hazardous substances that other companies have abandoned? A cutting edge company shouldn’t be cutting lives short by exposing children in China and India to dangerous chemicals. That’s why we Apple fans need to demand a new, cool product: a greener Apple. “

In the website, you can “download” iTox and iWaste
“Apple products – sleek looks, amazing design, meticulous attention to detail. So what’s with the toxic chemicals inside, short life spans and allowing their products to be dumped in Asia?”

…and .mAct, a “patch” to fix iLife. Be active!

And don’t forget to look at the (not so) funny ads. :P
